It’s 1963, President Kennedy is dead, and a civilization-ending global thermonuclear war is predicted with a 99.999% probability by the new, state-of-the-art Control Data 6600 computer. Fortunately, Washington has an ultra-secret program to preserve western civilization in the glowing aftermath triggered by JFK's assassination. A massive facility (actually more of a mid-20th century theme park designed by Disney Imagineers) has been hidden beneath the dry, dusty hills outside Bakersfield, California where a thousand carefully screened and selected people will live until it’s safe to emerge in the distant future (e.g., 2026).
Can somebody please tell them the world didn’t end?
This novel is about what happened before Dog Logic, the novel, and is projected to be available in 2026.
